Current Openings:

Inspector, Composite Fabrication

The Composites Inspector will support the Quality department and will inspect and test composite aircraft parts, assemblies, and structures for work quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to engineering drawings and specifications. The Inspector will use precision measuring and testing instruments and equipment, read inspection logs and operation sheets to determine the nature and sequence of inspection, first article inspection, nonconformance reporting and all associated documentation. Must have a full understanding of quality assurance and inspection, quality management system requirements and all post production policies and procedures.

Job Duties:

  • Reviews blueprints and production diagrams to visualize layout and assembly procedures, locate critical references, determine parts and materials requirements, dimensions, and finish specifications.
  • Visually inspects parts and assemblies for proper placement of composite plies and core and other physical characteristics.
  • Measurement of parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy, using precision measuring instruments, templates, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Reads pyrometers, timers, and pressure instruments to verify that operation of curing ovens and other equipment conforms to specifications.
  • Examines assembly surfaces subsequent to curing for bridging, fabric wrinkles and delamination.
  • Accept or reject parts and assemblies, and prepares documentation to record inspection results, rework required, and disposition of unacceptable products.
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering in verbal and written form to coordinate inspection process and to discuss inspection results.

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience inspecting the layup of composite structure.  Experience in an ISO 9001 environment a plus
  • 2 year Associates Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing shop environment, aviation experience preferred
  • Experienced using visual and mechanical inspection tools (e.g. microscope, gages, micrometer, caliper, comparator, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, and engineering documentation
  • High energy level with ability to multi-task while balancing and prioritizing project work with daily responsibilities.
  • Reliable and dependable with an excellent attendance and punctuality record.

Aircraft Layup/Trim Fit/Bonding Technicians

The Technician will perform lay up, fabrication, trim and drill operations, bonding, bodywork and other duties on a day to day basis. The Technicians are required to meet strict quality standards on all listed skill sets.

Job Duties:

  • Trim and drill operations on interior panels
  • Fit and bond in fastening systems
  • Layup new or repair of composite panels
  • Body work panels with fillers and foam to prep for upholstery
  • Meet quality standards on every part

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with layup, trim, repair, or bonding
  • Proficient with pneumatic cutting tools. (and the ability to trim to scribe lines without over trimming )
  • High standards for following instructions, detailed work, and work quality
  • Self-motivated, Self-disciplined, organized, and driven individual
  • Experience with finish carpentry, tool competency, trim to fit skills highly desirable
  • Aircraft experience highly desirable

Lab Technician

As part of the Quality Assurance Department the Lab Technician is responsible for the efficient flow of testing materials through the testing lab. The Technician will test parts or materials to meet required visual, dimensional and acceptance requirements of engineering drawings and specifications. The Tech may perform first article inspection and other inspections per specifications. When applicable, will select inspection method, determine test equipment, calibrate test equipment to standards, and evaluate results. Additionally, the Tech will research, prepare, and sign off various documents for record keeping purposes as required. Will also monitor and maintain test equipment and work area as required. Will work in conjunction with Engineering department.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct material tests including DMA, DSC, Short Beam Shear, Tensile and Compression of composite materials.
  • Conduct flow and gel time tests on uncured composite materials.
  • Monitor and coordinate testing throughput in the lab environment.
  • Work with engineering in the development and improvement of materials and processes.

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years’ experience in a Materials Testing Lab
  • Experience with load frame operation for mechanical testing of materials
  • Experience with flow and gel measurements and equipment
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of quality
  • Team work and professionalism a must.

NDT Level II Inspector

The NDT Level II  Inspector will perform Nondestructive Testing (NDT) and evaluation of adhesive bonded assemblies and components. The Inspector will develop inspection techniques for approval by the Quality Manager. Prepare reports summarizing inspection results and other quality documents in support of manufacturing operations. Will support the overall organization as part of the Quality group and provide NDT Testing on composite aerospace components and hardware. Will also monitor and maintain test equipment and work area as required.

Job Duties:

  • Sets up and performs non-destructive testing inspections on parts, materials and assemblies to determine the existence and extent of discontinuities.
  • Interprets ultrasonic readings and/or other NDT methods to determine location of subsurface and surface defects, such as inclusions, cracks, porosity, etc. Marks defective areas on the part and completes inspection records.
  • Performs inspection operations in accordance with Quality Control Standards, written specifications, or verbal instructions.
  • Participates as required in product/process auditinq through hardware/data verification and Statistical Process Control (SPC) verification activities.
  • Completes all related documentation.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 Years experience in NDT inspection of aerospace components using ultrasonic and radiographic methods.
  • Level II in the NDE disciplines of liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing is preferred.
  • Experience with NDT inspection of composite adhesive bonded aircraft structures.
  • Experience with automated C-scan inspection systems and proficient with manual A-scan equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of quality.
  • Team work and professionalism a must.

Dimensional Inspector

As part of the Quality Assurance Department the Dimensional Inspector is responsible for Inspecting parts or materials to meet required visual, dimensional and test requirements of engineering drawings and specifications. Will perform first article inspection and other inspections per specifications. When applicable, will select inspection method, determine test equipment, calibrate test equipment to standards, and evaluate results. Additionally, the Inspector researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record keeping purposes as required. Will also monitor and maintain test equipment and work area as required. Will work in conjunction with Engineering department.

Job Duties:

  • Inspect parts or materials per specifications
  • Perform first article inspections
  • Coordinate measuring machine
  • Use measuring instruments like depth and bore gauges, calipers and micrometers

Job Requirements:

  • 3 years experience in first article inspections
  • Must have prior experience as quality inspector working with machined and composite parts
  • prefer prior experience using a Faro Arm or CMM and GD&T
  • Experience with coordinating measuring machine required
  • Ability to read and understand geometric tolerancing and dimensioning
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Hand tool inspection skills
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) processes desirable
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of quality
  • Team work and professionalism a must.
